A Clergyman formerly with the Anglican Church has been arrested in Ikwo LGA for luring school boys and carrying out homosexual activity with them.
Salt FM reports, the suspect was arrested by the youths of ehyibichiri community in ikwo local government area following a confession by one of the victims.
The coordinator of the Ikwo East DC. Mr. Chinedu Igboji said that he got a report from the villagers that the suspected Anglican priest was luring some children and have canal knowledge of them. Mr Igboji stated that he quickly mobilized some youth to arrest the Anglican priest.
Mr. Igboji further stated that on interrogation it was discovered that the priest used charms placed in a white handkerchief which induces the victims to sleep. It was further discovered that the priest had been dismissed from the Church after being there for just three weeks.
It took the combined effort of the youths and the Police to identify all the victims who were all school children.
The town Union chairman Mr. Nwoba disclosed that the clergyman would send the boys on an errand and when the boys return he would invite them into his room in a guise to receive the reply then orders them to pull off their clothes and threatens to kill them if the resist.
The Ebonyi State Police Command PPRO Mr. George Okafor confirmed the arrest and stated that the case has been transferred to the Police Headquarters while investigations were still ongoing.
