Woman allegedly kills her father over some dream

A 31-year-old lady, Glory Bassey is currently in the custody of the Akwa-Ibom State Police command for allegedly killing her father over suspicion that he was responsible for the deaths of her mother, two husbands, and five children.



Glory Bassey said that she had no intention of killing him but confronted him while seeking solution to her woes. She said that she had a dream after crying on her late mother’s grave which revealed that her father was responsible for her predicaments.

She was said to have confronted her father with the allegation of witchcraft, which her father denied resulting in the dispute that lead to the death her father, Chief Bassey Udo.

She further narrated that her father upon the confrontation brought out a stick and beat her. Provoked by the beating and her emotional state, she seized the cane from him and hit him in return. Their neighbor’s rushed in and intervened before the situation escalated further.

She said “I went back to my house and there was nothing wrong with my father when I left. I am surprised that the next day, I was told he died.”

The Akwa-Ibom State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Delia Nwawe, confirmed the incident and disclosed that the case was reported by the Village Head of Mbiakpan Atan, Chief Linus Effiong Okon, against the suspect who is also, the daughter of the deceased.
