Man 20, jumps into lions den, Survives as two lions die. (Photos)

A Chilean National has reportdly survived an attack by lions after jumping into their enclosure. The man identified as Franco Luis Ferrada Roman, 20, was said to have stripped himself naked and broke into the lions den in an attempt to commit suicide.

 According to mail Online, Some of the lions attacked as soon as the man entered their den and mauled him severely. The Zookeepers intervened when they say the man being attacked by the lions and were forced to put down Two African lions as the lions severely mauled the man.

Mr Roman was subsequently rescued although in critical condition and taken to the hospital where was said to be responding to treatment.

The director of the zoo, Alejandra Montalva while speaking on the incident, said: “"We believe that this person entered as a visitor and paid for his ticket. Later he trespassed into an area where the public are not normally allowed and we understand that he forced the roof of the lion’s enclosure.It was from there that he jumped, took off his clothes and started to attract the lions".”

 Montalva further stated that she was deeply affected by the death of the animals, explained that the zoo has established protocol because human lives are very important and that no fast-acting tranquilizer was available to stop the lions from killing the man.
