Ebonyi State Ministry of Health States "No New Case of Lassa in The State"

The Ebonyi State Ministry of Health has denied reports linking it to a case of cover up of the lassa epidemic. The Minister of health had listed ebonyi as one of the states aftered by the lassa epidemic amongst sixteen other states. See the report here

In a  press briefing, The State Ministry stated
that the cases referred to by the federal ministry of health were only suspected cases as lab results were not out yet. Evidently, When the results were out, it showed that the patients were not affected. He further stated that the ministry recorded its last case of lassa fever in 2014 and since are yet to record any new case.

The Ministry also revealed plans by the Federal Ministry of Health to create a Lassa Fever Diagnostic Centre in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State
