Over Ten Secondary School students Collapse after taking Prevention Pills

Tragedy struck on Friday when about ten students of Genesis International School, Hausa Quarters, Abakaliki, reportedly collapsed after they were
administered Mectizan (used in treatment of eye related ailments).
According to a confirmed source, who wouldn't want to be named, some students were administered Mectizan tablets as part of an immunization program, after which about ten of them collapsed and were immediately rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki.
On investigation, it was discovered there was no ongoing immunization program thus exonerating the state ministry of health.
At the time of filing this report, all ten of the collapsed students were alleged to have been resuscitated.
