Fracas almost broke out at around 8pm at the police checkpoint along Nkaliki/hatchery Junction.
According to eye witness account, problem started when one of the police officers stopped a vehicle and asked the driver for the vehicle papers. It was said that on receiving the papers, the police officer confiscated it and requested for the originals. An Argument ensured which attracted the attention of motorists who stopped to inquire what the problem was and in no time, youths turned out in numbers as the driver of the vehicle was a permanent secretary and also a prominent figure in the area. The policemen still bluntly refused to return the papers despite the intervention from some political stalwarts as well as a house of assembly member.
The refusal angered the youths so asked the driver to leave the papers and go home with his vehicle. The policemen once again tried to stop the perm sec from leaving but sensed the situation was getting charged opted to let him go before the matter escalated further.
