The Cross River State Police Command paraded one Edet James Asuquo for raping and infecting a 13-year-old girl with HIV.
The State Police Commissioner Mr Hafiz Inuwa disclosed this to newsmen during a press conference called to showcase the achievements of the police force.
According to the Commissioner, it was gathered that the suspect was fully aware of his HIV status and had vowed to spread the virus as much as he could. The was however discovered to be HIV positive after a routine medical test was carried out.
Other suspects paraded during the briefing were arrested for various offences ranging from armed robbery, attempted murder, assault on police officers, possession of fake currencies among others.
The Police command recovered arms and ammunition and also a Mercedes Benz truck with registration DAL 222 XA loaded with wheat and N380,000 cash.
