Boy, 17 wakes up at his own funeral

A teenage boy who was presumed dead has shocked his family after he woke up on the way to his burial.
 According to
Times of India,  Kumar Marewad, 17, of Managundi village had been in critical condition afterhe was bitten by a stray dog over a month ago and was undergoing treatment at a government hospital.


Kumar's condition was said to have deteriorated forcing doctors to put him on life support. he was subsequently removed from life support after doctors told his family that the infection had spread in his body. The family was said to have taken the boy home and presumed he was dead after he stopped responding.


After making funeral arrangements, his family carried his “body”, but to their surprise  Kumar began moving again, just a mile before they reached the site for the ceremony.
He was then rushed to a nearby hospital where he has been put on ventilator.
According to Dr Mahesh Neelakhantannavar the boy was suffering from meningoencephalitis, an infection caused due by dog bite.

Although circumstances that lead to Kumar's "coming back to life" cannot be understood, Experts say Kumar was possibly on an aesthetic or a sedative drug which might have paralysed his circulator system.
