The Acting Director,Corporate Communication, Mr Isaac Okoroafor while speaking in a sensitization workshop in Bayelsa, encouraged Nigerians on Tuesday 29th November 2016 to eat Nigerian rice provided by CBN Anchor Programme.
According to Him,the country hopes to achieve self sustenance in rice production and even go as far as exporting rice to other Countries.
He further explained that the goal is feasible as just Kebbi State has harvested one million tons of rice adding that Ebonyi State's harvest had already exceeded the earmarked production for the year.
In his words "we must rid ourselves of eating foreign rice that has been stored for over nine years in Thailand,Vietnam and India. Nigerian rice is safe and better".
"Nigerian youths must wake up,dust themselves and join this worthy campaign"
"Already the Abia government has ordered rice from Ebonyi for Christmas".
