Independence Day: Ebonyi state Governor increases worker's salary

As part of celebrations of the independence day celebration, the Governor of Ebonyi State has increased the salary of civil servants in the state.

in a keynote address to mark the independence day celebration said that
the Government is commited to improving the workers welfare hence salary of workers from 1 October 2016 will be increased by 5%.

The governor further disclosed that the government will set up a joint committee that will consist of members of NLC and Government so as to ensure proper disbursement of gratuity and pensions. He said that the Government will set up an account for gratuity and pension and as well pay into the account intermittently as the wage bill of pensions and gratuity stand at N5bn and governument cannot afford such amount.
The independence day celebration was attended by past governors of the state including Col. Walter feghabor, Senators, House of Rep members, House of Assembly Members and so many others, not forgetting Mr IBU.
