Ebonyi State Government begins phase 1 of relocating Abakpa Main Market Traders



The Ebonyi State Government has reiterated its determination to relocate all the traders of abakpa main market and Hosanna market to the international market before December 2016.

 The Special Assistant on Trade Union Mr Peter Obah disclosed this in a interactive meeting between the Technical Committee on International Market Development and the traders, stated that the governments decision to relocate the traders was not to victimize anyone but aimed at improving the economic viability of the state. He urged the traders to pick up the forms as machinery has been put in place to ensure smooth transition.

The chairman of the Technical Committee, Chief David Nwachuwkwu informed the traders that all facilities require to create a conducive business environment has been installed adding that about four thousand lock-up stores were available to be occupied by the traders.

In his response, The Chairman of the abakpa main market association, Mr. Emeka Nwome appreciated the interactive platform and promised on behalf of the traders to comply with the governments full directive by picking up forms to enable them secure their own shop.
