A vehicle from EBOTRANS company with registration number EDA 245 XA traveling from Aba, Abia State was involved in a ghastly motor accident at Ugwu Iyere (the hill between Ogwuma and Ebuwana Edda.
The accident which claimed the life of the driver and 7 passengers was attributed to unfavorable road conditions, as it had been raining all day thus making the road slippery.
The Driver was said to have lost control of the vehicle and hit a concrete wall. According to reports, the driver was said to have died on the Spot along with six others while another died while been taken to the hospital.
The other passengers/victims of the bus were rushed to a hospital from Iyere Edda where the accident had occurred to both Ekoli Edda and Owutu General Hospital, while the dead were deposited at the morgue of the hospital of Owutu Hospital.
Road users has been warned repeatedly by the FRSC to be careful on roads especially slippery ones, avoid night travels because of poor visibility and also respect traffic regulations.
