Schoolboy drowns in abakaliki

A school boy of about 15 years old drowned in one of the pits popularly known as burrow pit.


The boy identified as Master Anthony Ugwanyi was alleged to have accompanied some of his friends to swim in one of those pits

An eye witness said he was alerted to the scene when some school children raised alarm that one of their friends had gone missing upon diving into the stagnant water as and took sometime before divers arrived the scene hence failed to rescue the boy.
