The accident involved an 18 sitter bus travelling from Onueke to Abakakili at a very high speed when it ran into a catapillar belonging to one of the construction companies.
According to an eye witness, The driver was on high speed and seemed to lose control of the vehicle while trying to negotiate the junction. Reports say four adults and three kids lost their lives at the spot of the crash.
The victims of the crash numbering about 21 were rushed to the emergency unit of the Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki (FETHA 2)
of which two adults and three more children have lost their lives while one more has been resuscitated.
